Coolio is facing a misdemeanor battery charge following an arrest for domestic violence earlier this month. According to documents obtained by the New York Daily News, the April 1st arrest stems from an incident with Anabella Chapman, who is the mother of the rapper's youngest son.
The fight reportedly started after Coolio arrived at their house with another girlfriend. During the altercation, Coolio - born Artis Ivey - allegedly pushed Chapman onto the ground and struck her in the face. Chapman sustained additional injuries when she was accidently sideswiped by Coolio's vehicle as he tried to leave with his son and the woman.
Coolio later returned to the residence and brought Chapman to the medical facility. The police report states that Chapman was "covered in blood" and had a laceration on her lip as well as a tire mark on her right calf.
Coolio later told police he was victim because Chapman had clawed his face after seeing the other woman. Coolio was later charged with one count of battery because police determined he was the aggressor.
