The audience at the 2019 BET Awards was on their feet for the tribute paid to slain rapper Nipsey Hussle. Performed by YG, DJ Khaled, Marsha Ambrosius and John Legend, the performance was a celebration of Hussle, who was gunned down on March 31 outside of his Marathon retail store in Los Angeles.
Nipsey Hussle was posthumously awarded the Humanitarian Award for all of his community service and efforts to bring peace to not only his neighborhood, but to neighborhoods around the country. He was admired by legions of fans throughout L.A. and beyond.
