Chaka Khan, Biggie, Whitney Houston Get Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nod

I am so stoked that the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie Smalls has been voted as an inductee into the 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But it doesn't stop there. One of my favorite singers ever, Whitney Houston, is also nominated. And that's not it -- the band Rufus featuring Chicago's own Chaka Khan have also been given the nod.

This is so cool because last year during my visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I voted for both Biggie and Whitney. These artists are all iconic and definitely deserve this honor. Out of all 16 nominees, nine of them are on the ballot for the first time, including Whitney and Biggie. And big props to Rufus, and Chaka Khan giving that Hall of Fame some more Chicago flavor.

The Dave Matthews Band, The Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, Motörhead, Pat Benatar, Soundgarden, T.Rex, Todd Rundgren, Thin Lizzy, Depeche Mode, Judas Priest, Kraftwerk, MC5 are also being nominated. Inductees won't be announced until May of next year, but at some point they should all be given this high honor for their contributions to American music.
