Seniors 75 And Older Get Extension On Drivers License Renewal

Seniors who are age 75 or older will have a year to renew their drivers license. This is all due to the pandemic. The deadline to receive a new license will be a year from the date of their birthday in 2020. So that means seniors will need to go to a DMV shortly before their birthday in 2021.

Secretary of State Jesse White says that he is mindful of the risk of seniors being exposed to COVID-19 which is why he is granting the year-long extension. Notices about the change will be mailed to eligible drivers.
