In a very shocking and more so surprising move, Mayor Lori Lightfoot says that she is granting one-on-one interviews only to journalists of color.
As she marks the mid-term of her mayoral role, the mayor says that she will have those interviews with journalists of color because there is an overwhelming amount of white people in the City Hall press corps and the racial make up needs to change.
She also added that the city's local media should be reflective of the multiple cultures that the city is comprised of.
