September 11 National Day of Service

2021 will mark the 20-year remembrance of the 9/11 attacks in 2001. Millions of Americans plan to remember and take part in this important observance -- now the nation’s largest day of service -- by volunteering, making donations, or simply doing good deeds

September 11 is a federally-recognized National Day of Service and Remembrance, called “9/11 Day.”

On 9/11 at Navy Pier, you can participate in the day of service by joining volunteers helping pack tens of thousands of meals for people in need.

All the meals will be donated to and distributed by the Greater Chicago Food Depository to individuals and families who are food insecure.

Volunteers must be fully vaccinated and register online in advance.
