Today Chicago’s Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) hosts PurpleStride Chicago, a walk happening nationwide to help end pancreatic cancer. Katie Yenkin, Jerry Springer’s daughter will be participating with family to honor Jerry on the 1st anniversary of his passing from pancreatic cancer. The opening ceremony is at 10am with the walk at 10:30 at Cantigny Park, in Wheaton. Pancreatic Cancer is the world’s deadliest cancer with a five-year survival rate of only 13%.
And check out the in-person Women's Health Fair today at the Boys & Girls Club in Gary, Indiana from 11am to 3pm, with speakers, free health screenings, live cooking demonstrations, children's entertainment, plus giveaways including strollers, and free haircuts for kids 17 and under. Tomorrow is their online health fair from 3-5pm. Speakers will talk about issues including therapy for pregnant and postpartum patients, maternal morbidity, mortality and more.
