CEO’s at McDonald’s Corp. have taken pay-cuts this year but are still making enough to by a Big Mac-a-day for the rest of their lives.
Don Thompson, CEO, saw his yearly compensation fall by about $4 million to $9.5 million due to increased pressure from competing fast-food chains. Thompson’s base-salary is $1.225 million with an added $500,000 in deferred benefits.
What this trend indicates for the Oak Brook-based Corporation is increasing consumer attention away from McDonald’s and towards other forms of food services.
