Bed bugs have been found at the Thompson Center, in the Loop, building that acts as the seat of the state government in Chicago.

Over the weekend they contact a pest management to come in and control the pest that leave itchy skin welts if bitten by one. They do not carry any diseases but are contagious.

The department spokeswoman, Susan Hofer, said that there is no threat to the public and they are being traced to a worker who could have contracted them from home.
