"Having Our Say" at Goodman Theater Through Sunday

"Having Our Say" was a very enjoyable stage production about two sisters who were just one generation from slavery. They tell the story of their lives and what they witnessed in America over the years. Witnessing everything from the Vietnam War to the Civil Rights Movement, these women share stories of their family foundation and how important it was for them to be educated and see through color barriers and other obstacles life brought their way.

I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Ella Joyce, who stars as Bessie Delany who lived to be 104 and Marie Thomas portrayed Sadie, who died at 109. "Having Our Say" is a very enlightening and intriguing story where you can learn quite a bit, and is at the Goodman Theater through June 10.
