Well it looks like mayoral candidate Amara Enyia has a couple of rappers in her back pocket. The Chicago activist last week was endorsed as mayoral hopeful by Chance The Rapper, now Kanye West comes through with more than 70-thousand dollars to help jump start her campaign ... well, sort of.
The money will actually be used to pay some fines Enyia had accrued from the Illinois State Board of Election in connection with a campaign she ran in 2015. She never closed that account and didn't file the required campaign finance reports so she was fined. The money from Kanye came right on time because she had until Dec. 20 to pay the fines. Now that she has that out of the way, she can properly run for mayor.
Both Chicago rappers obviously want Enyia to win the mayoral election because they think that she will be able to move Chicago forward. I'm sure if she does win, Kanye and Chance will definitely have some sort of role at City Hall. This can get real interesting.
