It's Down to the Wire... Voting Time on Tuesday!

We’re down to the wire and it’s time to VOTE! The historic run-off election between Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle to become Chicago's first African-American woman mayor is this Tuesday, April 2nd... and you can still vote early through Monday!

You can also still register to vote in the run-off at all voting sites. (Find all the info on early voting here.)

Also remember that this is not just a run-off for mayor… it’s also for city treasurer and aldermen in 15 wards. Here's a list of all the candidates who are up for election, if you're not sure who they are and if your ward is affected.

I know that no candidate is perfect and you may not like any of them on top of having valid complaints about them… but not voting only makes that worse. Sometimes, the choices we are offered aren’t the ones we want, but not making a choice at all is giving up. Voting is the only power we really have and if we don’t use it, we can’t change a thing.

This also hasn’t been a pretty campaign – I really can’t stand that and I’m disappointed at what I’ve heard and seen – but that’s not going to stop me from voting and it shouldn’t stop you either.

These are decisions to put people in office who really could affect your life… so please VOTE!
