We already know the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige is a good actress, having been nominated twice for an Oscar. Now she's going to put her music on pause just for a minute to produce a drama series about Philly drug queenpin Thelma Wright.
MJB will serve as executive producer of the series which details the grimy life of Wright, who became a gangster and drug trafficker after her husband died. He was a major player in the drug game too. From the early 80s Wright transported cocaine and heroin between Philadelphia and Los Angeles before finally giving up the life of crime in the early 90s.
The series will air on the USA Network.
