Schools Will Remain Open If There Is A Teachers Strike

A Chicago Public School teachers strike is looming and we could probably all agree that most Chicagoans are not necessarily excited about this strike because they would prefer our students stay in school. But in the event of a strike on Thursday, the CPS system is pretty well prepared.

According to CPS CEO Janice Jackson, schools will remain open and students will still be served meals. School buses, however will not be in operation. This is good news because some parents have to work or else they may not get paid. Child care may be difficult for some too. Another plus is that there are hundreds of homeless students throughout CPS and those children will still have the opportunity to have hot meals.

Our fingers are crossed that the city and the Chicago Teachers Union can come to an agreement on all issues and classes will not be disrupted.
