This is the end of day 5 of the Chicago teachers strike. When will it end? How long will the bargaining go on? I hope it ends soon so students can get back into the classroom and get on with their education.
I am not taking any sides, because as I mentioned before I wholeheartedly believe in fighting for what is right and the common good. Our children's lives are priceless and they need the best that they can get when it comes to education, and the environment surround their education. I value education a great deal and I'm sorry to see this strike, but I get it.
For many years teachers' concerns and suggestions have been overlooked and it is definitely time that they, too, get what they deserve as it relates to providing the best education for our students. I never understood how the city can continue to build these amazing skyscrapers, beautify neighborhoods, spend money on parades and such but our children are getting shorted. What gives?
Please come to an agreement for the sake of the children.
