Welcome to the holiday shopping season and time for gift giving. Buying for those special people in your life is becoming more and more expensive, and this holiday season the average person will spend about $1,048. And of that amount about $659 will be spent of gifts for friends and family or co-workers, according to the National Retail Federation.
That dollar amount seems about right, but for many years my family hasn't exchanged gifts so I guess I won't have to worry about spending that kind of money, thank goodness! But what we do is gather together and have quality family time and that is worth more than any gift that I could ever open.
But for all of you heavy-hitting shoppers, I'm happy for you! I encourage you to go out there and shop until you drop! 'Tis the season, right?
