We really need to pay attention to global warming because it is really a thing, and a very important thing to be aware of because it affects us and generations to follow.
There have been recent reports of high water levels in Lake Michigan, causing erosion along the shore. The north shore is really being hit hard, with water reaching and destroying some properties. Along the south shore water levels reached into the streets, causing them to be closed and traffic re-routed. For months I have seen "do not enter" signs along Lake Michigan, warning passersby, cyclists, and runners that it is not safe to be on the paths due to those high levels and waves.
We see and hear reports of glaciers melting in Antarctica where recently temps hit a record high of 65 degrees. That is very alarming and so is the fact that global warming is affecting us right in our backyard. Let's take care of planet earth and let's be very serious and diligent in paying attention to what is happening around us. Long after we're gone our future generations will still have to deal with this issue.
