Flags Will Fly At Half-Staff For Coronavirus Victims This Weekend

President Trump has been asked to order flags on all public buildings to be flown at half-staff not only to honor those military personnel who lost their lives, but also those who died from coronavirus. This move came after a letter was submitted to the president by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

The leaders expressed it would be a necessary tribute, since so many are grieving losses these days, and especially since the death toll in the U.S. is approaching 100,000. President Trump said in a Tweet the flags will be lowered on all federal buildings and national monuments over the next three days in memory of those lost due to the virus. And the flags will remain at half-staff as tradition on Memorial Day.
