Biotech company Moderna has developed a vaccine for COVID-19… and starting next month, UIC will begin testing and is looking for volunteers. Three other area hospitals are expected to test vaccines from other companies in the near future.
The UIC clinical trial is set to start on July 9thand will assess if the vaccine will produce antibodies that can protect against the disease. Scientists are looking to see if will keep people from getting it and if it will reduce how severe the disease if patients do get it.
