While it is not likely to happen, I pray not another life will be taken in Chicago this weekend. And especially not the life of an innocent child.
Chicago has been a hot spot the past couple of weekends with an increase in shootings and with the murders of children. The past couple of weekends in Chicago have seen a ridiculous amount of shootings -- one weekend had more than 100 and this past weekend had more than 60 shootings, with 18 dead.
Six children have been shot dead within a week. Another child was shot in the chest last night and is in critical condition. NOBODY should die from gun violence, and definitely not an innocent child.
Chicago police will add 1,200 police officers to patrol the streets ahead of this typically violent holiday weekend. While it is not likely to happen, I pray not another life will be taken in Chicago, and especially not the life of an innocent child.
