The NBA has approved a list of social justice messages that can be worn on the back of NBA jerseys for the remainder of the season, hopefully there will be a remainder of the season.
But anyway, not every player is happy about these messages. Some of the ballers think the phrases are not representative of what they believe, many saying they don't have a voice in what phrases should be used. LeBron James is very vocal about the fact that the phrases don't resonate with his mission about racial equality, so he most likely won't be wearing anything except his name.
Well, here is the list that the NBA and National Basketball Players Association came up with:
- Say Their Names
- Vote
- I Can’t Breathe
- Justice
- Peace
- Equality
- Freedom
- Enough
- Power to the People
- Justice Now
- Say Her Name
- Sí Se Puede (Yes We Can)
- Liberation
- See Us
- Hear Us
- Respect Us
- Love Us
- Listen
- Listen to Us
- Stand Up
- Ally
- Anti-Racist
- I Am A Man
- Speak Up
- How Many More
- Group Economics
- Education Reform
