Another "Let Us Play" rally of students demanding the return of all fall sports will take place outside of Soldier Field Sunday. Hundreds of high school athletes say they want to play sports and asks if the Chicago Bears can play, why can't they?
The athletes want to reinstate football, soccer and volleyball. Other states have reinstated fall sports but students in some school districts say bringing sports back to school is crucial to their emotional and physical well-being.
Governor Pritzker is not backing down, saying he will not sacrifice people's lives or their health just for them to play sports. He also said his decision to keep students out of the classroom and sports put on hold for now is not political, adding that he is listening to health officials and scientists who are experts on coronavirus and the impact it could have.
More rallies are scheduled for the days ahead.
