Back in September Kanye West said that he was going to start a school based on the founding pillars of faith, music, communication, collaboration and creativity. This school will be called the "Yeezy Christian Academy." It seems as though he's on track because he has released a promo video which features his children and niece and nephew.
I'm actually happy to see the homeboy still professing his love for God and all, but I just hope he channels it in a way where people will take him more seriously. I've been a fan of Kanye before he became the mega star that he is. There is something unique about him. I have to say I don't necessarily agree with everything he says and does, but when it comes to creativity and talent, I'm a fan.
Hopefully Kanye will get with some partners who know about opening schools and educational curriculum and such, because the idea is a good one. However, it's not clear right now if his academy will be certified or how the enrollment process will work.
Whatever he does, I wish him well because that is a lot of talent in one person and I hope he focuses it in the right direction. I'm sure he'll have plenty of time on his hands for planning now since he, well ... since he won't be president and all.
