Curators of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. will preserve items from the riots at the nation's capitol. Flags, items and other objects that were left behind will be preserved as historical artifacts.
It makes a lot of sense to me because it is important that future generations learn about the actions of Americans terrorizing other Americans. January 6, 2021 will go down in history as one of the worst days in America.
I still find it hard to believe that our nation's capitol was desecrated.
