Gov. J.B. Pritzker said Thursday he’s activated 500 Illinois National Guard members for a “security mission” at the U.S. Capitol that will last until mid-March. The deployment of more troops to the nation’s capital follows a violent siege of the Capitol by supporters of Trump earlier this month, leaving four dead and others injured.
