In what will probably be the case with most educational institutions, Northwestern University will require students to be vaccinated for the fall 2021 school year. COVID-19 vaccines will be mandatory for students in order to take part in any on campus programs or activities. They can't even register for class unless they can prove they have been fully vaccinated or receive an exemption.
But this is the part I don't get. While students have to be fully vaccinated, the staff and faculty don't have to be? Well at least they are not yet required to be vaccinated, and that's according to administrators.
So why would students have to be vaccinated but not staff? That really doesn't make any sense. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the final decision will be.
