Mayor Lori Lightfoot has proclaimed July 17th as 'Young Biz Kidz Day' in Chicago, and she's urging all residents to uplift and support our young entrepreneurs! And parents you can do just that by gathering the kids and attending the Young Biz Kidz Marketplace this Saturday.
While you're there, meet the top 12 Young Biz Kidz in America, including Chicago's own and south sider Jahkil Jackson, who will be a freshman at DeLaSalle High School this fall. Jahkil has so many amazing talents, including author and his work with Project I Am, a non profit he founded when he was just 8 years old. The mission is to build awareness of homelessness and to help the homeless population by offering them what he calls "Blessings Bags."
Young Biz Kidz Day is a fun, experiential program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their very own business. Every year youth will have the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship by setting up their business during the city's community-wide Young Biz Kidz Day.
It's so important that we encourage our youth to prepare for generational wealth while empowering them through entrepreneurship while they're young. Let's support and change the narrative starting now!
