Just as his sex trafficking case in New York has come a close, a date has been set in the trial for R. Kelly in Chicago. The singer stands trial on August 1, 2022.
In Wednesday's court hearing, an attorney for Kelly said that he was placed on suicide watch after his conviction in New York but that has now ended. Kelly will be sentenced in May of next year, where he faces up to life in prison. He remains in a New York jail.
