Looks like we’ve got a mask-free March on the way as the governor announced plans to partially lift the state’s mandate by the end of the month.
Governor Pritzker said he made the decision because we’re in the fastest rate of decline in COVID numbers that we’ve ever seen in Illinois and if that trend holds, the indoor mask mandate will be lifted on the 28th for malls, restaurants, bars and businesses… but not schools. They’re covered by a different mandate.
Plus, local jurisdictions will be able to make stricter rules if their rates don’t improve as quickly. Plus there are locations still under a federal mask mandate like prisons, healthcare facilities and public transit.
On the testing level, with all the COVID test kits coming in the mail, the feds are warning to watch for scammers… they're saying be on your guard and don’t fall for fake sites or emails designed to get you to give out your personal info. Only use the official website here (https://covidtests.gov).
Be safe and stay well!
