Singer and songwriter Solange Knowles is set to be honored with the 2022 Global Trailblazer Award from New York University for Creative and Artistic Excellence on International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8th.
Beyonce’s younger sister is receiving the award for her work with Saint Heron – her multidisciplinary platform, studio and creative agency that has grown and morphed over the years.
Solange first launched Saint Heron in 2013 as a digital hub for cultural conversations and said that, “Saint Heron is a process. It is a moving, living, and breathing evolution. It is a spirit.” The organization’s mission is to preserve, collect, and uplift stories that amplify Black and Brown voices through a range of innovative projects.
