Tennis superstar Serena Williams and her venture capital firm Serena Ventures just made a new investment in a Seattle-based startup that’s working to increase the number of opportunities for black folks in technology.
The business is called Karat (as in gold) and they help businesses interview to find Black talent for their organizations and they also provide workshops and development to people looking for those jobs.
Serena said their plan really “stuck out to her” because “diversity in tech in particular is a big driving force for me that impacts how I feel, think and move as an entrepreneur and as an investor.”
It's a real baller move to set up other people to break through barriers and become ballers too!
