It’s all here as of yesterday… two initiatives went into effect July 1st that will give us all a break and maybe a boost.
Governor JB Pritzker’s tax relief initiative that suspends the state’s 1% tax on groceries will be in place for a year. The measure also suspended the inflation adjustment for motor fuel tax worth about 2.2 cents a gallon. It will last for six months.
And the city’s minimum wage got a little boost yesterday as well, going up to $15.40 for most workers.
