Study Finds That Hair Straightening Chemicals Link To Uterine Cancer

As an ex-hair stylist, I've heard this rumor my entire 25 years that I did hair. Rumors have always circled around the chemicals in the relaxer. But, according to researchers at the National Institutes of Health, a recent study shows a link between the straightening chemical or relaxers and uterine cancer. This type of cancer typically begins in the lining of the uterus.

Previous research has shown an increased risk of hormone-related cancers like breast and ovarian influenced by hair straightening products, and black women are at an increased risk due to frequent use. It's something to think about but so hard to stay away from.
