The Doomsday Clock has been set to its closest time to midnight in its history. The clock is a metaphor for how close humanity is to self annihilation, and now set to 90 seconds to midnight. Why? Because of the war in Ukraine and the possibility of nuclear escalation. The climate crisis and COVID-19 were also cited.
