Black People Magic: History-Making Super Bowl On & Off The Field

Lots of firsts this first week of Black History Month… starting with the black magic of Super Bowl!

Next Sunday, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles make league history, becoming the first time two black quarterbacks have faced off in the big game. Doug Williams was the first Black quarterback to win a Super Bowl in 1988 for Washington.

But the history of the game goes beyond the players… Eagles assistant coach Autumn Lockwood becomes the first black woman and the 4th woman in history to coach in the Super Bowl. She just joined the team this season as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

And Jalen Hurts’ agent Nicole Lynn is also the first black female agent to represent a player in the Super Bowl. She’s part of Jalen’s all-female management team another first for the league.

Let's celebrate us for the big game... and remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
