Black People Magic: Honoring a Chicago Power Couple Making a Difference

Celebrating the Black People Magic of a Chicago power couple this weekend! 

Congratulations to Kari Steele and husband Maze Jackson as they’re both honored with awards tonight for their work and careers. 

Kari Steele is the history-making first black woman president of Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and will be honored at the Rich Township Black History Awards Gala alongside other esteemed honorees, renowned fashion designer Barbara Bates and former Ambassador and Senator Carol Mosley-Braun, who will receive this year's Lifetime Achievement award. 

And Maze Jackson is a political strategist, media personality, and urban marketing pioneer… he’s receiving a Legacy Award at their gala celebration of black entrepreneurship.
