Community Connect: Helping Care For Alzheimer's

Community Connect is all about bringing you resources you can use… this one is for caregivers and it’s close to my heart because I’ve needed this help myself.

Next weekend, the Alzheimer’s Association of Illinois hosts “Release The Silence,” a free conference for caregivers, future caregivers, professionals in healthcare and anyone who wants to learn more about Alzheimer’s, dementia and how it affects our community. Black people are twice as likely to have an Alzheimer’s or dementia diagnosis than the population at large. (see the flyer below)

The conference will be held next Saturday April 22nd from 10am to 2pm at the Kroc Community Center, 1250 W. 119th Street, Chicago. The event is completely free but please register in advance at this link.

Our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
