Community Connect is all about supporting our people and moving us forward… this week, it's about helping young people express themselves, in the memory of Emmett Till and the legacy of his mother Mamie Till Mobley.
The Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation hosts their fundraiser with comedy, live music and more at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts in Hyde Park (915 E 60th Street in Chicago) next Friday, April 28th at 6pm.
Proceeds from the event support the organization’s mission of empowerment, character building and artistic expression through education. The money raised goes directly to granting scholarships and sponsoring youth programs, including the Emmett Till Players, who’ll also perform at the event.
The Emmett Till Players were originally started by Mrs. Mobley to give young people a voice through public speaking experiences, inspiring them to achieve their highest potential and breaking the cycle of violence and hate.
Mamie Till Mobley passed in 2003 and her niece and Emmett’s cousin Ollie Gordon, who lived in the same building as them at the time of his murder, continues their legacy as Founder and President of the Foundation.

& Remember... our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
