Sha’carri Richardson showed them all this week!
Just two years ago, she got no grace for the way she chose to grieve the loss of her biological mother when she was barred from competition in the Tokyo Olympics for using marijuana.
This week, she came back in a big way at the 2023 World Athletic Championships in Budapest… becoming the fastest woman on the planet, running the women’s 100-meter in 10.65 seconds, grabbing the world title and setting a new championship record in the process.
During a post-race interview, she remembered how she was treated and how she grew from it, saying, “I’m not worried about the world anymore. I’ve seen the world be my friend, I’ve seen the world turn on me. At the end of the day, I’ve always been with me. God has always been with me… now it’s my time to actually do it for myself, and the people that felt like me, and the people that look like me, and the people that know the truth about themselves as well. I represent those people.”
Amen sister!
& Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
