Community Connect is all about hooking you up and helping you out with resources you can use… and this week, we're celebrating Kwanzaa!
Today is the fifth day of Kwanzaa and today’s principle is Nia, or Purpose, which is a commitment to the collectively building, developing and defending our community, its culture and history in order to regain our historical initiative and greatness… living and walking in our purpose.
And if you want to join with community to honor the holiday, Malcolm X College has been hosting a free celebration all week that will continue through January 1st from 10am-4pm each day, feauring with live performances and local artisans. Bring the whole family and celebrate our community. The event will be on the first floor at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Jackson Street in Chicago. Parking is free with validation.
Remember, our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can! Habari Gani!
