NBA star Russell Westbrook is doing some good in his hood… giving back to the community that raised him.
The nine-time All-Star “Mr. Triple Double” and future Hall of Famer announced on Instagram this week that he has committed to build 180 affordable homes as part of a community development project in South L.A.
It’s located in the area destroyed during the civil unrest that followed the release of the video showing Rodney King being brutally beaten by officers of the Los Angeles Police Department in 1991.
The initiative is called the Evermount Project and it’s a collaborative effort with Target and local businesses… and it could become a model for community development in similar disinvested urban areas.
& Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
