Oscar winner Regina King has been on a press tour in the last couple of weeks promoting her new Netflix film “Shirley,” where she stars as the first Black woman to run for president, Shirley Chisolm. She also co-produced and co-stars with her sister Reina in the film.
Regina has also opened up for the first time publicly about how she’s moved through the grief of losing her son, Ian Alexander, Jr. to suicide in January 2022. She revealed that she built a community with other mothers who understand what she’s going through and after a short break, got right back to work on this film to honor his memory.
Regina was on Jimmy Kimmel Thursday and he got choked up welcoming her to the show and checking on how she’s doing… she thanked him by comforting him and it’s such a beautiful, sweet moment. Watch the full interview below or at this link.
