What's Happening This Weekend: Frankie, C2E2, Shopping & More!

April’s winding down, the weather’s hot and here's What's Happening This Weekend…

Tonight, it’s the “I Wanna Thank You Farewell Tour” with Frankie Beverly & Maze, Chaka Khan and El Debarge at the United Center at 8pm.

C2E2: Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo is this weekend at McCormick Place with comics, cosplay, gaming, wrestling and more!

Monday was Earth Day and Gallagher Way celebrates it today with the Trashy Earth Market, a free handmade craft fair with unique items transformed from reclaimed materials. You can also drop off unwanted items for repurposing at the Reuse & Recycling Pop-Up.

It’s Independent Bookstore Day and you can participate in the crawl today and support indie stores all over the city to get discounts all year long.

The One of a Kind Show has all you need for a spring refresh at Merchandise Mart with 350 artists with home goods from around the country, plus fashion shows and a gourmet market.

And longtime South Side blues club, Lee’s Unleaded Blues has reopened at its original location at 7401 S. South Chicago.

Looking into next week:

Friday May 3rd, Tamia & Joe are at the Arie Crown Theatre.

Also Friday, Musiq Soulchild and Eric Benet are at the Hard Rock Casino in Gary.

Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
