New Safety Measures along Chicago's Lakefront

If you’re headed to the beach today or over the rest of the weekend, you may see additional security measures at some areas along the lakefront.

Following a series of crimes and incidents at 31st Street beach, Alderman Lamont Robinson’s office confirmed that there will be a new curfew and other security measures. The beach will close at 9pm for the next 10 days, plus there is new fencing in place, plus extra security and bag checks.

No loitering will be allowed in the parking lot or on the beach. CPD will begin towing and ticket enforcement will begin at 11pm.
