Congratulations to Garrett Popcorn Shops… the Chicago classic treat purveyors are celebrating their 75th anniversary with a month of festivities to honor their very first shop that opened in September of 1949.
Gladys Otto Garrett opened the doors at 10 W. Madison, right on the corner of State Street to share her popcorn recipes she developed in her home kitchen. The CaramelCrisp, Cheesecorn, Buttery and Plain popcorn went for 5 cents a bag, along with homemade fudge and roasted nuts.
Starting this Monday, September 9th through next Friday, September 13th from 1-3pm each day, get a small bag of any signature popcorn in store for only $1.75 (limit one per transaction).
