Community Connect: Health, Wealth & Beauty Plus Caregivers Month Awareness

Community Connect has resources you can use for our health, wealth and beauty plus something for our caregivers!

For my ladies, AARP presents "The Luminous Life" today! They’re inviting all queens to Chicago’s Hair, Health and Wealth pop-up experience from 11am to 3pm at Little Black Pearl on 47th Street in Hyde Park (1060 E 47th Street in Chicago). Your host for the day is Dr. Carol Adams, founder and CEO of Urban Prescriptives, Inc., along with local experts with all the ways you can take care of your crown, along with your health and wealth.

And tomorrow, join Chicago’s own Drew Sidora in the Fight Against Alzheimer's Disease fundraiser from 5-9pm at Dragon Budo Jujitsu Martial Arts Academy at 95th and Jeffrey (2021-25 East 95th Street in Chicago). The actress and singer is honoring the legacy of her father, Dr. Robert Jordan, who passed away last year after a battle with Alzheimer’s, with her mother, Dr. Jeanette Jordan who'll be there with a book signing about her journey as a caregiver. The event is organized by Dementia Dignified Academy and Ending Dis-Ease Consulting for National Family Caregivers Month to raise awareness, funds, and support for those facing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia with speakers, workshops, and demonstrations.

Remember, our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
