Community Connect, is here to hook you up and help you out with resources you can use… this weekend, it's a couple of ways for the young people in your life to get some money & have some fun!
The Chicago Sun-Times wants your teens to share their Chicago future… on the line, a $250 prize and publication in the paper as a guest columnist. High School students ages 13-18 are invited to submit an original column of 525-600 words on the theme “Looking Ahead.” The Sun-Times says no topic is off limits… they only want them to share their vision for the future of Chicago. The deadline to submit here is December 31st then winners will be chosen by a panel of Sun-Times staff.
And Oscar Mayer is looking to hire what they call “Hotdoggers”... they’re looking for drivers to pilot America’s most famous hot dog on wheels, their Wienermobile. It’s a one-year opportunity to travel across the U.S. as brand ambassadors, a master class in brand management and public relations. It’s a competitive job opportunity… they have 12 positions available to recent college graduates with strong communication skills, a bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or marketing and, of course, a love of hot dog puns so they can help promote the brand. Info on the job and how to apply is available at this link and applications are open through January 31st. The lucky ones chosen for the jobs will then drive the iconic Wienermobile, attend community events and create social media content to promote the brand.
Remember, our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
