Honoring D'Wayne Wiggins of Tony! Toni! Tone! & Remembering Angie Stone

D'Wayne Wiggins, singer, musician, guitarist, philanthropist, and founding member of the group Tony! Toni! Toné! passed away yesterday (Friday) morning at the 64 surrounded by family and friends. His family had announced earlier in the week on social media that he was in hospice care, asking for prayers. Then yesterday they shared the sad news that he had transitioned, saying “Over the past year, he has been privately and courageously battling bladder cancer. Through this fight, he remained committed and present for his family, his music, his fans and the community.”

And funeral arrangements have been announced for award-winning singer, songwriter and actress Angie Stone who passed away last weekend at 63. She died in a car accident after leaving a performance in Mobile, Alabama on her way to Atlanta to catch a flight to Baltimore to perform at a basketball tournament. Angie’s funeral is next Saturday in her hometown of Columbia, South Carolina, at First Nazareth Baptist Church where she began singing gospel music at a young age. Her family is also planning a large memorial in Atlanta to  give fans and friends an opportunity to say goodbye. That date has not yet been confirmed. Angie’s children Diamond Stone and Michael Archer thanked all the fans and celebrities like Beyonce, Lenny Kravitz, Tyler Perry and more who’ve paid tribute to her, saying on her site that they “want to thank you all for your love and well wishes during what is an extremely difficult time.

Let's give honor their memory while we also treasure all our dear artists we love now by giving them their flowers while they're with us.
