Black People Magic Salutes Carol Moseley Braun Leading DuSable Museum Board

Her resumé is full of magic—ambassador, U.S. Senator, and now Board Chair of the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center—lifelong public servant Carol Moseley-Braun. The news was announced Monday that she will now lead the museum’s Board of Trustees, overseeing the strategic direction of DuSable, ensuring its continued growth.

Moseley Braun is Chicago through-and-through… she was born here, attended Chicago Public Schools, University of Illinois, graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, and was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1973. She has a long history of championing civil rights, social justice, and educational equity as an elected official… earning her own place in the museum, having made history in 1992 when she became the first African-American woman elected to the United States Senate.

She said about this latest appointment, “I am deeply honored to be serving as the new Board Chair for The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center... Since its inception in 1961, the museum has served as a pillar of connection and convener for the Black community. I look forward to collaborating with the Museum’s leadership, staff, and community partners to further its mission and ensure it remains a powerful force for cultural preservation and education.”

Amen! & Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
