Community Connect: Help with Groceries & Resources for Alzheimer's

Community Connect is here to hook you up and help you out with resources you can use for your health and your grocery bill!

West suburban Living Fresh Market (7520 Roosevelt Road, Forest Park) is the nation’s largest full-scale supermarket owned by African Americans. They just launched their groundbreaking health and wellness campaign today to support shoppers as grocery prices continue to rise, featuring on-site health and wellness experts offering free samples of nutritious foods, healthy cooking tips, and personalized advice. Senior Executive Melody Winston said they’re also helping with Super Tuesdays every week, where customers save 15 percent off every item in their basket at the register.  For information, visit their site here.

& The Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is hosting their third annual African American Conference—Release The Silence on Saturday, May 3, at Greenwood Oasis (7621 S. Greenwood in Chicago) from 9:30am -1:30pm. It’s a free program designed to help our community navigate the Alzheimer’s and dementia journey, featuring resources and support in our community for caregivers, future caregivers, and healthcare professionals. For more information see the flyer below and visit this link to register.
